I often come back to Le Fauchon at Soho for their set lunch and dinner. They offer French cuisine which is quite outstanding at such affordable prices in my opinion, and particularly like their complimentary French baguette basket. For that we visit their Tsim Sha Tsui branch today, where the menu is a bit different yet still exquisitely prepared. The impressive French baguette is served hot to the table, which is the perfect pairing with the seafood stew ordered from the a la carte menu. Apart from the soup of the day – cream of fish chowder, we take the appetizer platter that is plated beautifully in a rectangular plate. We all enjoy the crab meat angel hair pasta as well as the comparatively heavier squid ink spaghetti because of its cream based sea urchin sauce. Both are flavorful and al dente. The rib eye steak layering on a scoop of mashed potato and grilled veggies is cooked to medium, which also looks juicy and tender.
Finally, the dessert platter includes two cream puffs and a tiramisu cake. I personally prefer a tiramisu pudding instead of cake-form. Nevertheless, the apple tart is still luscious with slices of apple baked in a puff pastry that has been stuffed with assorted nuts. The cinnamon ice cream on top is also a remarkable delight on the plate.
