Putien 莆田 – Fujian Cuisine

Similar to Paradise Dynasty, Putien is also a restaurant from Singapore, where offers Fujian cuisines. They modestly bring homey and comfort food to the table, from yams, seafoods or even their signature thick broth vermicelli, all savouries are mostly satisfying, simple and pure.

Despite the deep fried fish is under moisture, it still has a crispy and golden exterior, pairing with a flavorful homemade fish sauce dip. A small order of 7-inch pig’s trotter with a minimum of 2 pieces is seasoned richly with salt and pepper; it is so scrumptious especially with those collagen found under the golden crunchy skin.

Ideally, the sesame golden bun is like a deep fried mantou for wrapping the shredded pork, which has been sautéed with onion in a sweet soy sauce. Lastly, we order a hearty portion of Putian thick soup with seaweed, crab meat and tofu pieces. I am definitely going to try their steamed yellow croaker next time.
