The Saint is a new British gastro pub at Elgin Street Soho. It has a very welcoming yet sophisticated ambience, while serving classic comfort foods such as fish n’ chips, scotch egg and British pie. We start off with nibbles of their starters. The boar scotch egg that is wrapped with smoked bacon, has a hard boiled egg with an oozy yolk and an outer layer of boar pork meat.
The undoubtedly indulgent roasted bone marrow has knocked my socks off with its complexity, creaminess and fattiness, especially when enjoyed on the toasted sourdough slices that also come with bacon jam, herby salad made with parsley and buttery roasted mushrooms.
The cheesy camembert cubes are so creamy and soft, fried with herbed breadcrumbs and served with a sweet cranberry preserve.
