Stone Nullah Tavern is a classic American tavern, same group as Linguini Fini and Posto Pubblico. They source local organic ingredients such as pork and veggies, and through knowledgeable classic American cooking, they serve food from farm to table with creativities and a twist of Western techniques.
The first showdown is a special house made beef dripping served with a few toasted sourdough. It is a total out of this world especially when the truthfully buttery beef fat is infused with thyme. After that is a perfect starter of giant king prawns, sourced from Vietnam, with cocktail dipping and a spice of nutmeg from a typical seafood Old Bay seasoning.
Followed by a plate of deep fried oysters sitting on a bed of unbeatable Buffalo chili sauce; the corn tortilla chips come with classic nacho condiments of cheesy cheddar, sour cream, diced jalapeno and a wonderfully made pig’s ear crisps.
The very American style caesar salad is also a great refreshment with crunchy lettuce leaves, generous shaving of parmesan and my most loved thick-cut bacons made with a sweet glaze.
For real, the wood grilled pizza is a crispy thin bread crust made with American toppings of barbecue chicken, fried onion, cheddar cheese and coriander leaves.
While the whole chicken is excellently batter fried with amazing jus and flavor, favorites of the night are definitely the enormous and fall of bone dry rubbed steak; the perfectly tender and scrumptious pork ribs cooked in smoky Apple wood and glazed with an irresistible sticky sweet glaze. Not to mention the creamy mac and cheese topped with an enticing organic raw egg yolk.
For a cherry on top, we were ended with the biggest guilty pleasure of red velvet chocolate cake, creme brulee and an oozing layer of chocolate mousse, which is absolutely incredible. After a few manageable spoonfuls, the mount of evil whipped cream is as well concluded to be the ultimate banana split that I have ever come across.
