Jacks Oyster Bar & Fish House – Very Best Octopus

Every Sunday, there will be a farmer’s market selling all those fresh fruits, organic baked goods and food trucks at Jack London Square. It is also a must to have some delicious seafood at this beautiful pier.

The one restaurant that I would recommend is Jack’s Oyster Bar & Fish House. During the weekend, there are brunch dishes available such as crab cake Benedict, granola parfait and pancake; whilst their seafood options vary from fresh oyster, fish & chips to even lobster mac & cheese, dungeness crab roll and signature charred octopus.

Settled at the al fresco dining area, I am pleased to be served by an enthusiastic waitress with some famous recommendations and their house desserts upon request.

The deliciously gigantic octopus is incredible. Poached 24 hours, excellently charcoal grilled with an amazing aroma and the flavorful smoky sauce made with grilled red bell peppers has also completed the dish wonderfully. It also comes together with delicious grilled veggies like baby carrots, zucchini and potatoes.

Truth to be told, I have never eaten such a tender and delectable octopus, this is undoubtedly their best dish!

Finally, I order a simple soft serve with strawberry coulis and crunchy candied almonds, it melts quite fast but still has been a sweet completion to the fabulous charred octopus.
