When it comes to eating ice creams, I might consider myself an expert. But when it’s about making them, I doubt.
Among all the local and popular brands in Asia Hong Kong, Happy Cow is the pioneer to produce healthy ice creams. They make their ice creams dairy free, soy free, gluten free, with no preservatives or colours, which is even better to be low glycemic. The all natural and organic concept is introduced immediately to the Green Community, where you can now find them at local farmers market like Island East Market, or restaurants like Grassroots Pantry.
Since they use only coconut cream and coconut nectar for the ice cream, the less creamy texture is as expected. But the coconut flavor is completely overwhelming and the deliciousness is enhanced with additional coconut bits.
Another impressive flavor would be the salted caramel. It has a great balance of sweet to saltiness, which is also comparatively creamier to the original coconut flavor.
I am so obsessed with this Cow right now, especially when I was told it is DAIRY and GLUTEN FREE! Yays!
