The Cupping Room – Breakfasts of Champion

The Cupping Room is a popular hidden coffee spot in Hong Kong. Getting hold of two barista championships, they have been the main attraction along Cleverly Street across Sheung Wan.

Before the latest location in Central, they have a reachable branch in Wan Chai where also serves amazing beverage and serious coffee. It is set with similar bar seats, a few tables and serves signature breakfasts of champion.

From the menu of comprehensive breakfast and lunch, a must-order is surely the signature brunch.

Our combo consists of house cured salmon, poached egg, cucumber and radish sitting on two slices of stone-baked sourdough; included is a few add-on, crispy bacon and grilled pork sausages.

The salmon is neat and trim, perfectly cured with juice of beetroot, which has been my favourite among the plate.

Poached egg is nothing outstanding but it is cooked just right. The yolk runs excellently into the toasted sourdough, complements whole-heartedly to become an egg-and-sausage breakfast.

On a blackboard of renowned espresso and sustainable coffees, we are much fond of some chocolate treat.

The two are similarly dusted with cocoa powder, each comes different with mini marshmallows in the hot and vanilla ice cream in the cold. However, the scoop of ice cream is found to be too sweet.

Despite the square dining space is very small, it is still perfect to head down for the best brunch fix!
