The restaurant has a restful interior contributed by wooden and rattan design, vintage tiles, together with a cosy al fresco dining patio that provides a relaxing and casual ambience.
Following the Vietnamese-Thai cuisine, the menu in fact offers a good selection of street foods, from meat, seafood to vegetarian options, in addition to contemporary noodle dishes.
As we are set at the bar table facing the buzzy open kitchen, we can tell that every dish has been deliberately made straight from the Chef with careful details and distinct ingredients.
The mango and beetroot rice paper roll is one of the eye-catching vegetarian options that has been given a colourful presentation. The big chunks of mango, freshly julienned beetroot and radish are folded within the perfectly soak-to-soften rice paper. A top notch is that tangy cashew dip on the side, surely completes the dish to be a great alternative to soft shell crab roll.
We enjoy the delectably tender and juicy beef skewer so much with the nutty satay sauce made with peanuts and garlic, whereas the grilled eel is even better for its meatiness and pleasantly oh-so-healthy fish skin and oil.
On top of that, the sauteed kales remains super crunchy and flavorful with dried shrimps and chili oil, which made for a healthy treat too.
Despite the interesting list of herbal mocktails and drinks available, we could not stop ourselves from getting a Vietnamese dessert – coconut jelly with fresh papaya. The agar texture is pretty much loved but we hope for some real coconut flesh in it.
After all, Minh & Kok will be your next leisure place to go with Viet and Thai food.
