Talkin’ about all-American burger joints, Burger Circus is surely the one to be mentioned.
At Hollywood Road in Central, it is settled as a late 19th century train carriage room, serves American sandwiches and sides from lunch to late night.
An antiquated milk bar is found at the back of the diner that makes a handful selection of milkshakes, spiked shakes and cocktails from time to time.
Making it less messy, their burgers are served neatly in paper box. We sampled some classic combos such as the fairly better Circus burger slattered with a signature Circus sauce; that is basically ketchup, mayo and pickle relish, and the Wizard burger with freshly ground and griddled beef patty layered with melted Monetery Jack cheese, ranch dressing and chopped green chilies for a kick.
The burger bun is nicely toasted and fluffy in texture, but is so unsuccessfully soggy with all the juices and dressings running through the buns.
Fries are comparatively thick cut if consider McDonald’s size, whilst comes a little mushy and seasoned, good with tomato ketchup.
Contrariwise, we love the batter-fried jalapeno peppers. It is perfectly crispy, moist and flavorfully stuffed with a creamy cheese and bacon bites.
Both the milkshakes are pretty well shaken with ice cream, for which we prefer the coffee version with toffee brittles.
In general, it is not the most impressive gourmet burger and perhaps a little pricy for a combo set.
