Vida Rica Restaurant – The East Meet West Executive Lunch

At Mandarin Oriental Macau, Vida Rica Restaurant has been so far my favourite restaurant serving both Chinese and Western cuisines.

Coming back to this elegant place where is cleverly sectioned into individual dining area and tables next to the floor-to-ceiling glass windows, it contains a great intimacy, and still having delicate presentation and modesty in their dishes.

During the afternoon, their lunch menu is broken into a Chinese business set lunch and an European executive business set lunch, covering a dim sum platter and a starter, main course and starch, finishes with desserts respectively.

We are first served with fresh-baked bread assortment along with plain or spiced butter.

For the West, a lighter appetizer is a Japanese sweet prawn with crunchy and healthy quinoa salad, crab tartare, sliced avocado and sweet mango to finish.

For the East, we love the prawn dumpling with beet-dyed wrapper and the beautifully shaped swan taro puff from the signature dim sum platter. The pumpkin soup that follows are so rich and with chunks of crabmeat and pumpkin puree giving texture.

The mains for the sets are well worth the money. For seafood we have a steamed garoupa and a perfectly seared salmon fillet; for meat we have the excellent medium-rare beef oyster blade and stir-fried beef tenderloin which are equally tender and delicious.

By the time we have more than enough and are able to finish the three exquisite desserts, chocolate tart, berries panna cotta and the napoleon, the desserts at MO Macau have never failed to impress me!
