Egg Custard x Chocolate Mooncake Collection – Mid Autumn 2016

It is almost Mid Autumn Festival. Following the traditional mooncake series in 2005, I have an egg custard mooncake collection, plus the first ever chocolate mooncake of this year.

The Peninsula’s legendary mooncakes are made with their classic recipe since 1986.
Patisserie La Lune, the most special custard mooncakes which are only available on sale in certain outlets, and pre-order online. It is my favourite!
Kee Wah, the most traditional Chinese brand, is very delicate but cracks easily.
Last but not the least, Lei Garden, smells great when I tear off the package!

A special mention to Mott 32 in collaboration with World’s Best Pastry Chef of Year 2016, Pierre Herme Paris-Hong Kong, they have prepared an assortment of Mexican dark chocolate mooncakes. The box come in four pieces, including “Mathilda” – lemon almond praline; “Ouvre-Toi” – sesame praline and gold sesame nougatine; “Infiniment Praline Noisette” – hazelnuts praline and finally, “Sensation” – almond puff pastry praline.

Happy Moon Festival! 🙂
