Located at the fifth floor of the newly rebranded Cordis Hotel, Alibi can be accessed by taking the lift to the sixth floor and walk down a floor of the hotel. The cool and chic bar offers multiple drinks and wine selections prepared by a local, award-winning mixology, while focusing on a fare of seasonal sharing plates inspired by Asian and European cuisines.
We start by having our tailor-made cocktails, all presented beautifully with each of them having a unique characteristic, whilst mine is citrus based green apple and lemon mocktail.
The huge platter of iced seafood features all fresh and prominent seafood from around the world, including Alaska king crab leg, Boston lobster and Vietnam tiger prawns.
Some highlights from the all-day bites menu are a very impressive kimchi toasties with decadent melted cheddar, crab cake sliders with a delightful and creamy lime mayo and a ridiculously moreish bone marrow and short ribs bake to serve with some sourdough toast and sweet whiskey fig jam.
The slow-roasted pigeon is perfectly made to medium doneness, it is so tender and juicy, served aside beetroot puree, some colourful zucchini and a piece of lovely fried rillette.
A pity, we have yet tried out any of their desserts. But the overall experience is so impressive that I’ll surely come back for another pleasant visit!
