Lu Feng 爐峰 – The Most Authentic Dining Spot at The Peak

Dating back to 1960’s, Lu Feng was once a Chinese restaurant occupying the lower level of the Peak Tower. After a few decades, they finally return here as a 3-level restaurant, set with a sentimental 60’s & 70’s design, with neon signs and shops like the old days of Hong Kong.

To stick to its authentic Hong Kong style, the menu features all-day dim sum and signature stir fries, such as barbecue meat, deep-fried milk custard, baked fish intestine with egg, and some premium seafood dishes.

Start with Hong Konger’s favourite social affair, dim sum, which is available all day for brunch, lunch and dinner. Forget about the pan-fried rice rolls or steamed char siu bao, Lu Feng offers limited yet absolutely impeccable varieties including classic shrimp dumplings, two types of shaomai, spring rolls and golden brown scallion pancakes.

Moving on to the mains, the gold coin chicken is served differently without a slider bun, pork-based, layered with chicken liver and a honey BBQ glaze; whereas the lotus root pork patty is well pan-fried and has a nice crunch.

I always love almond soup, not the sweet version, but double-boiled with a thick and creamy almond base, pig’s lung, chicken legs, and collagen-rich fish maw. (Thumbs up!)
Some favourites are the beautifully assembled deep-fried crab claws served aside sweet and sour dip, tenderly braised shortribs and Yin Yang fried rice with tomato versus cheesy white sauce.

Our menu is completed with two fascinating desserts, the lovely black sesame rolls and mango pomelo sago.

Their drink list is not limited to Chinese tea, soft drinks or juices, but also some that are commonly seen at cha chaan teng, for instance, iced red bean with milk, black cow and a coconut pineapple punch!
