Blue Brick Bistro – Special Dinner By Yoku Moku

Lands on the buzzing Lee Tung Avenue at Wan Chai, the infamous Japanese egg roll expert Yoku Moku has come to serve some sophisticated Western fusion Japanese cuisine. The restaurant takes up two floors with a contemporary ambiance, where is perfect to enjoy the brand new menu featuring well-selected ingredients.

We first start with an unbeatable combination of crab meat and green apple salad with cured mango and a delightful avocado foam created by nitrogen gun, follow by a hearty creamy mushroom soup spiced with bits of ginger and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil.

For mains, there are sakura shrimp tagliolini pasta cooked lightly in a cream sauce perfectly al dente and serve aside house smoked sea urchin; creamy black truffle risotto with wagyu beef cheek, baked salmon in filo pastry with a delicious saffron cream sauce; and the most loved grilled rib-eye with balsamic glaze, cooked medium rare.

Coming to the most anticipated part, no doubt is the Yoku Moku’s renowned roll cakes that come in three flavors, starting from my favourite milk tea, the original as well as Kyoto maccha. They are so fluffy, moist and creamy!

More to savor are creme brulee made with Japanese cream and a visible amount of Madagascar vanilla seeds, as well as the signature Mont Blanc with chestnut puree, French cream, and homemade shortcrust pastry.

After all, I’m impressed with the decadent meal and the contemporary dining environment.
