What is The Coffee Academics? True to its name, it is a leading specialty coffee brand from Hong Kong where has its own coffee school, coffee roasting facility, whose brand has already been expanded outside of Hong Kong to Singapore and Shanghai. The principle of sourcing the best Arabica coffee beans globally continue to bring us some single origin from all around the world including Africa, Columbia, Kenya etc., as well as the not-to-be-missed House Blend, which is a light mixture of more than one kind of coffee beans.
At the Morrison branch, we come to learn about the unique characteristics of four single origin coffees at a mini cupping class, starting from aroma, acidity, sweetness, flavors to body. We also get to know the difference of adding whole milk at 60-65C, how the lactose gives its natural sweetness and why other milks such as soymilk and almond milk cannot act the same due to their low sugar, low fat features.
Meanwhile, you can also experience the Asia’s first Coffee in a Cone and some signature coffees at the Pop-Up By The Coffee Academics @The ONE, or at Lan Kwai Fong branch.
The Coffee in a Cone is referred as the “Most Instagrammed Coffee in the World”, showcasing a beautiful latte art, a chocolate coated waffle cone to prevent it from getting soggy.
The latte macchiato with coconut sugar and panda is also very delicious and warm to the heart!
