There have long been many rave reviews about the afternoon tea at Palm Court. Located at the lobby of The Langham hotel, it is an elegant space featuring a luxurious and dramatic ambience, also a dessert refrigerator showcasing many homemade treats and pastries.
Served in the classic three-tier stand, the British Afternoon Tea first includes a list of their signature tailor-made Wedgwood specialty teas. I asked for a Ginger Garden, which is a fresh fruit iced tea served with fresh mint and lychee.

The set includes both sweets and savoury finger sandwiches, starting with a strawberry trifle made with sponge light vanilla cream and strawberry jelly. The caramel and praline opera cake is presented with a British touch, very nutty and delightful.

Those finger sandwiches are made very delicate and soft, including egg and avocado salad in tomato bread, cheddar cheese in white bread, and my favourite is the smoked salmon in yellow corn bread, spread with horseradish and lemon mayonnaise.

The best part is definitely the homemade scones, so light and buttery and not too crumbly, serve aside clotted cream, strawberry jam and a special rose preserve. It is one of the best I’ve had in town!!!

In addition, there are live performances such as harp or piano, which would be a wonderful and perfect afternoon completion.
